The most successful students have involved parents.

Home stretch! We are starting to wind down the school year. Please take this time to start looking for school owned instruments to bring back to school.

Yorba Meadows Concert – ALL instrumental music students Our last Instrumental Music performance is this Thursday, May 31st, 6:00 p.m. Groups include Jazz Band, Performing Band, INtermediate Band, Beginning Band, Intermediate ORchestra and Advanced Orchestra. We will also present awards, hold a very short booster meeting and hold our MPR Fundraiser raffle for those Disneyland tickets! This is a mandatory event for students, a free fun night out for families and night of unforgettable entertainment. Bring your beach and lawn chairs, enjoy a picnic or purchase dinner from BC Burgers. SEE FLYER FOR INFO.
STUDENTS – sign up to volunteer here
PARENTS – we will need lots of help afterwards to clear the field so our stuff does not get wet from sprinklers.

Beginning & Intermediate groups field trip we will be going to Boomers! In Irvine on Tuesday, June 5th. SEE FLYER FOR INFO.

Disneyland Ticket Raffle Instrumental music has joined forces with Vocal Music, Drama and Leadership to help fundraise to update our MPR. We are very lucky that the BYMS MPR has been available for our events throughout the year. Purchase tickets to enter a raffle for a family pack of Disneyland tickets!
Instrumental Music has used the MPR during the 2017-18 year for many events, including the following:
Beginning of the year meeting
Uniform fittings
Fundraiser distributions
Combined group rehearsals – the band room is not large enough to accomodate more than one class
Field trip preparation
Set up for Marching Band performances
Garage Sale
Student Bingo
Winter Concert
Talent Show Performances

Jazz Camps Over the summer, Mr. Perez (Valencia HS) and Mr. Methe (Yorba Linda MS) host jazz camps. Watch for more info in the next few weeks. This is a great idea for students who are interested in beginning or continuing their jazz education during the summer months. SEE ATTACHMENTS
